I took a look at the Oberthur Authentic plugin at
http://www.musclecard.com/musclecard/index.html

The readme says you just need an Authenic card with the X509 applet. So as it appears you dont have to install the MCard Applet.

But you need the above plugin. Be sure to have your ATR inserted in the info.plist of the plugin if it isnt already there.

I currently maintain a Howto for Muscle setup with IBM JCop Javacards at
http://www.liquid-reality.de/main/projects/musclecard_jcop_howto
you can sure find some parts of the Howto that also apply to your setup.

If you manage to get all running I would be interested in your experiences to add them to the howto. If you get stuck anywhere ask again on the list.

best regards,

Christian

I can read the card's ATR, but I have no idea how to "upload the MCard Applet". I guess I thought something I installed would take care of this for me. The ATR is for a "Oberthur AuthentIC".

Is there a mini-howto for newbies explaining how to take a preconfigured card (like this one) and do logins and signed email under Linux and Mozilla?

I've seen it work with a utility under Windows--I get prompted for a PIN and after I enter the correct PIN it spits out some certs, so I know the card actually has something on it and seems to work as advertised.
