for suse 9.1 (what i guess u have):
check if your card-terminal is recognized by your system:
..> lsusb (its provided by package usbutils)
1) install libusb, flex pkg_config as rpm-files using yast
2) get pcsc-lite-1.2.9-beta6.tar.gz and the ccid-0.9.2.tar.gz [1]
3) pcsc-lite ---> ./configure && make && make install
4) ccid ---> ./configure && make && make install
5) start pcscd --> pcscd -a -f -d stdout
