The problem is not the too old system.

I tried to get it work with suse linux 9.1, but without sucess.

readertest doesn't find the cardreader nor towitoko-tester.

Compiling ccid didn't suceed (suse 9.1):
 make[2]: Entering directory `/home/estel/Desktop/steve/ccid-0.9.2/examples'
/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -g -O2 -Wall -o scardcontrol scardcontrol.o
-lpcsclite
gcc -g -O2 -Wall -o scardcontrol scardcontrol.o /usr/lib/libpcsclite.so
scardcontrol.o(.text+0x37b): In function `main':
/home/estel/Desktop/steve/ccid-0.9.2/examples/scardcontrol.c:196: undefined reference
to `SCardGetAttrib'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [scardcontrol] Fehler 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/estel/Desktop/steve/ccid-0.9.2/examples'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Fehler 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/estel/Desktop/steve/ccid-0.9.2'
make: *** [all] Fehler 2

I don't know why.

And that's one reason i thought it is a good idea to try the same with suse linux 8.2
(the only distri with kernel 2.4 i have)

and there was the problem with glibc.

But if you habe any idea, post it.

And if you know a good reader that i can use without troubles - let me know.

Thanks

Michael
