There is on more chance: MuscleCard connects to a wrong applet. This can only happen if the MuscleCard library connects to a wrong applet, maybe the default selected applet, which might be not the Card Edge Applet. Take a look into your Info.plist what AID is mentioned there.

Hi,
I am not really able to evaluate what you mean :(
...
        <string>MuscleCard Applet</string>
        <key>spAtrValue</key>
        <string>3B751300009C02020102</string>
        <string>3B759400006202020301</string>
        <string>3B6500009C02020102</string>
        <string>3B3B94008065AF030D0174830F9000</string>
        <string>3F6D000080318065B00501025E83009000</string>
        <key>spDefaultApplication</key>
        <string>A00000000101</string>
...

the default spDefaultApplication key seems to be not ok !??
Or is the additional 01 at the end ok ??

No this is correct. I do not think, that this will help, but you can take a try to a software I'm right now developing.

http://www.inf.tu-dresden.de/~ko189283/MuscleCard/JOpenPlatformWrapper.zip

Extract. At the moment only for Windows. start.bat I hope it works.

Press Establish Context. Got to connect. Take protocol 0 or 1.
Use 40 41 424 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 4a 4b 4c 4d 4e 4f as all three keys and press connect. Under Manage Applications you can see under status all applications. Under Delete you can delete applications. It should be a0 00 00 00 01 and a0 00 00 00 01 01. The order of the deletion does matter. Maybe you must delete both at once or you must delete one by one or in a different way. Under install load the bin file you have, (CAP or IJC file), use a0 00 00 00 01 for package AID, a0 00 00 00 01 01 for class and instance AID. For nonVolatile DataSpaceLimit use maybe 4000 under for install/install and make selectable. You can optionaly click Default selected. For a cybertflex it is necessary to append an install parameter. Use 00 or 01. Click on All together. You should have the applet installed. If you have questions for the terminology of this all, read the article included.

Bye, Karsten

Ciao
        Matze
