I have this reader and it works fine with pcsc, have you d/led the pcsc drivers off the acs website? Use the old drivers as the new drivers don't seem to work.

OK, thanks. I don't have another card reader and if I were to buy another one I'd avoid ACS given this experience! I'd rather hoped that with the device being PC/SC compatible it would work with pcscd.
