Shouldn't this kind of stuff be handled with a generic
message catalog layer - i.e. a library call where you
feed in the original text, usually English, and the call
returns a buffer that contains the localized text that
needs to be presented to the user?
I'm sure that Linux has such a facility, and I know that
Solaris does, and I'd be surprised if MacOS doesn't have
one.
It seems to me that putting localized strings inside of
a driver is just the wrong way to handle localization.
