Have you looked at [1]? It is a patch to build the CCID driver for
Tiger as a universal binary. I agree it is not well documented and may
not be easy to use.

I plan to work on something similar for Leopard on January 2008.

I don't think it is a good idea to _replace_ an Apple component. Maybe
Apple will provide a correct CCID class driver one day. Who knows...
