Sorry for being inaccurate, what I'm looking for is a possibility to

Most of high-level APIs are more focused on cryptographic services than
data storage (and it often makes sense). Nevertheless some systems such
as the well-known, well documented PKCS#11, provide a comprehensive
access to data.
OOH, reading your initial post, I'm not sure that the difficulty comes
from the middleware used to access data but to the definition of the
full system that may include a high level of protection (says on-board
biometric verification, several PIN and some admin keys) of the data or
the more basic option to store data once and read them w/o restrictions.
If I am wrong and that these constraints / requirements are known, you
could list them to allow the proposal the best possible system / middleware.
