AFAIK, even when you have only one cert, a dialog to select it is
shown (unless the first time you clicked "use this one always"). I
dont know how this preferences are cleared, but probably clearing all
privacy data will be enough.

On security devices you can see the token name when the card is
present, otherwise you will see the slot name.
Please confirm you can see the token name in both. If not, its
possible the needed libraries to access the smartcard are not present
(ubuntu packages: libccid, libpcsclite1, pcscd)

I recommend you using modutil to list the modules installed in
secmod.db, to ensure the module is properly installed and configured.
