Hi,

I'm very new to smartcards so I'm gathering information.

All smartcard-readers I found on the musclecard-site seem to be "high-level" readers. You buy one and then you connect it to your system.
What I would like is to make my own reader.
Via the serial port which is "smart-card compatible". Some arm-processors seem to have this and using a chip (ST8024) as interface between the serial port and the smartcard.
Another option is via I2C, using another chip (TDA8020HL).

Is PCSC-lite able to handle this ? I read on the website there should be "generic" software to make your own driver. I downloaded the three source-files (pcsc-lite, ccid, libmusclecard) but I don't seem to find that generic code. Is this in a separate file ?

Thanks for any help you could provide.

Regards,

Koenraad Lelong.
