If you are going to build your own hardware I could suggest to use Atmel ARM7/9 and get the USB examples from them. They have several different usb device implementations including ccid. You can see this example which is one of the files required for a ccid device: http://makecontroller.googlecode.com/svn/firmware/trunk/core/usb/device/ccid/cciddriver.c The full example is able to control the smart card in low level and provide a generic usb ccid driver. > Koenraad.
