in my opinion, this old version of the Wikipedia article on it was
mathematically the most concise:

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nyquist%E2%80%93Shannon_sampling_theorem&oldid=234842277#Mathematical_basis_for_the_theorem
then someone named BobK started the processes of fucking it up and now it is
unrecognizable it *does* require the leap of faith that the dirac
delta function is a "function" (without worrying much about the "delta as
distribution" stuff). if you wanna be mathematically correct and not make a
reference to the naked dirac or dirac comb, then the Poisson Summation Formula
is probably the way to go, but it is not as
direct conceptually as multiplying by the dirac comb as the sampling
function.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisson_summation_formula
Nigel, i would be careful with superlative claims regarding one's own work. it
is too Trumpian in nature to be taken at face value. but i
appreciate this (and your other) work.
