DIRECT WAR WITH ALLAH (Swt)

Nowadays almost everyone of us availing facility of CREDIT CARDS and Consumer
Financing (Leasing of Cars/Ready Cash etc) from banks. Did anyone think that
by doing this we are directly involved in INTEREST (Riba) which according to
Quran is just like waging “Direct war against Allah & his Messenger”.

On the other hand having this CREDIT CARD in the wallet we are also
performing SALAT (Prayers) and try to become true Muslim.

We should think about the fate of our good deeds (Aamal-e-Saleh) specially
when we are directly involved in war with Allah (Swt).

We should avoid dealing in INTEREST as much as it is in our control if we
want our prayers to be accepted by ALLAH (Swt). One might say that he/she
tries to return the amount before the interest is charged but there are high
chances that the cheque is misplaced or some sort of dispute of wrong entries
arise at later stage.

A large number of people using Credit Cards/Leasing facility from Banks are
involved in disputes and have complaints against banks. Don’t you think this
is after affect of INTEREST (Sood ka wabal). It is a sort of temptation that
whether you have money or not in the pocket you will spend through Card as
nothing is going from you at that time (Human psychology). This is also a
reason of living beyond the limit which definitely creates family disputes &
tension. So it is better to have Debit Card instead of Credit Card and have
Current Account instead of PLS Account.

May Allah guide us right path……. Aameen.

  Fatwa by Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen
Silsilah Kitaab ad-Da'wah (12), al-Fataawa - Volume 3, Page 120-121
The ruling regarding using a credit card
*Please appropriately reference this fatwa to: www.fatwa-online.com, thankyou!*

Question: There are banks which provide their customers with a card called
"Visa". This (card) then permits them (customers) to withdraw cash from the
bank, even if they do not have sufficient funds in their account at the time.
After a (specified) period of time, the customer is then required to pay back
the money which he withdrew, and if he fails to do so before this period of
time expires, the bank will then charge an extra fee in addition to the
original amount withdrawn. This is in addition to the customer paying a (fixed)
yearly fee to the bank for the use of this card. I request you to explain the
ruling regarding the use of this card, and are there any specific conditions
which need to exist if the use of the card was not permissible? (And) may
Allaah reward you with good?
Response: This transaction is impermissible (haraam); this is because it
consists of adhering (agreeing) to pay interest if the repayment is not done
within the specified time (period), and this adherence (agreement) is not
permissible. Even if a person believed or felt assured that he would make the
repayment before the expiry of the time period, it is possible that
circumstances could change rendering him unable to make the repayment within
the specified time period. And since this is a matter of the future, a person
(obviously) does not know what will happen in the future, so this transaction
in this case is impermissible.
