 I think there are two problems here.

 The first is purely technical: can we make mutt behave properly so that
 changes to the draft get saved back.  Personally, I don't know - I'll have
 to trace through and see what (if any) obstacles are in the way.

 The second problem is changing the behavior of "-H".  Although the manual
 says "draft file", the code is behaving as if it is a "template file".
 I"m concerned changing the behavior of -H might upset and confuse people
 whose carefully crafted templates are overwritten.  It may be worth
 polling mutt-users to see how people understand and are using the flag.

 Assuming the technical hurdles and be solved, would it be worth
 considering a new flag for the "draft file" behavior?
