And indeed, as I noted in comment:1 mutt_read_rfc822_line() does
dynamically resize to accommodate larger lines. It may have been the
address parsing code that was truncating the "address" in attachment
"msg".
Given that the To: line was simply a sequence of 4992 digits (localparts
being limited to 64 chars and the 256 for the whole address), I wasn't too
inclined to trace through and see exactly what was causing the truncation
if we weren't getting an overflow.
msg.2 perhaps has a more reasonable objection, but there are still some
other issues here: SMTP recipient limits, bad UI for editing many
recipients (a single long line). We can bump up HUGE_STRING, but perhaps
we should change the editing model or insist on using $edit_headers if
there are more than X recipients. As I mentioned in comment:7 I'd ideally
like those issues to be in another ticket so I can focus on the SASL bug
fix in this one.
