Blech. I know Mutt tries to conform to GNU C coding standards, but I've always sort of thought whoever came up with those should have been hung by his toenails. In my eyes it's as if they were expressly designed to minimize code readability. FWIW in the "real world" I've never actually seen them used, except by MIT grads and extreme GNU fanboys.
