In compress.c:

    mutt_error (_(" %s: Error compressing mailbox!  Uncompressed one kept!\n"),
ctx->path);

Is the space before the %s there on purpose?

It is the only mutt_error instance for which the message starts
with a space.

Moreover, sometimes "Can't" is used, sometimes "Cannot":

There should be an error style guide, like:
  https://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.2/static/error-style-guide.html
