Just to be clear, I don't use the Pinephone as a daily driver. With the physical keyboard the only sensible orientation is horizontal, and you can get a reasonable approximation of a text console. 80 columns by 20 rows is fairly usable. Otherwise, it's pretty horrendous. In vertical orientation, to get an 80 character wide terminal you need to use a prohibitively small font. In horizontal orientation, an on-screen keyboard typically takes up about half of the vertical space.
