Yes, we are.
Way back when, before the pestilence known as Microsoft spread throughout
the world, the delete key deleted backwards, as it should.
Perhaps delete has been set to delete backwards because that is how people
not used to the M$ world had been using it forever?
I've been using this it thusly continuously for many years, and still do.

I normally do not take part in policy discussions unless we must protect
someone or something;
can you, Jim, or Claus, please explain how *ALIASING* Delete and
Backspace to do the same thing is "good"?
Why do we have separate keys then?

I would think you can add a key binding to serve your finger memory if
need be, so I support Kevin's change and Rene's backing it.
