well this isn't very high tech, but what i do is to set my mailboxes to
'unsorted', and then put the high traffic / least important ones at the
bottom.

i have 'g' bound to <change-folder>\r so then i just cycle through the
folders. if new mail comes into a higher priority folder, it'll go to
that folder next.

in this way, i eventually read the less important stuff, but the stuff i
care about gets to me first.
