The above command did generate one extra long line - ie. all the directories on one line. And it did generate it like "/home/askwar/Maildir/foo /home/askwar/Maildir/bar". However, I've now "tweaked" the script a little, and it now generates this: =+Daemon_Mails =+DUPES =+iso-top =+Mailer_Mails =+net-attach =+net-attach/Standard =+net-attach/Anderes =+net-attach/WorldRes =+ML-Apache-USERS =+ML-Apache-USERS-DE =+ML-BLUEFISH-DEV =+ML-CDRECORD-SUPPORT =+ML-CDWRITE =+ML-CLPA-MODERATORS =+ML-CSCMAIL-DEVEL =+ML-CUPS =+ML-DEBIAN-CD =+ML-DENKPAUSE =+ML-EVOLUTION =+ML-EVOLUTION-HACKERS =+ML-FETCHMAIL-FRIENDS =+ML-FOCUS-LINUX =+ML-GABBER-DISCUSS =+ML-GNOMEICU-SUPPORT =+ML-GNOME-PILOT-LIST =+ML-GNUPG-USERS =+ML-IMP =+ML-I-WORKER =+ML-IW-TEC =+ML-JYTHON-USERS =+ML-LIBRANET-USERS =+ML-LINKS-LIST =+ML-LinuxPrinting-GENERAL-LIST =+ML-LISTE-HELP =+ML-Mandrake-ANNOUNCE =+ML-Mandrake-CHRPM =+ML-Mandrake-COMPIL =+ML-Mandrake-CONTRIB-RPM =+ML-Mandrake-COOKER =+ML-Mandrake-COOKER-FIREWALL =+ML-Mandrake-EXPERT =+ML-Mandrake-SECURITY_ANNOUNCE =+ML-Mandrake-Security-DISCUSS =+ML-Mandrake-Security-SNF =+ML-MYSQL =+ML-MYSQL-DE =+ML-NETWORKER =+ML-OWNER-DE =+ML-OWNER-LFTP =+ML-OWNER-MUTT-DEV =+ML-OWNER-MUTT-USERS =+ML-OWNER-POSTFIX-USERS =+ML-PAN-USERS =+ML-PDFLIB =+ML-PEAR-CVS-HELP =+ML-PEAR-DEV-HELP =+ML-PEAR-GENERAL-HELP =+ML-PHP =+ML-PHP-CVS-HELP =+ML-PHP-DEV-HELP =+ML-PHP-GENERAL-HELP =+ML-PHPGROUPWARE-USERS =+ML-PHPSHOP-DEVELOPER =+ML-PHPSHOP-LIST =+ML-PILOTMGR =+ML-PLF-DISCUSS =+ML-PROCMAIL =+ML-PYTHON-LIST =+ML-QMAIL-HELP =+ML-RATES4LINUX-USERS =+ML-REDHAT-LIST =+ML-RPM2HTML =+ML-RPMHELP-HELP =+ML-RPM-LIST =+ML-SAWFISH =+ML-TURBA =+ML-W3M-DEV-EN =+ML-XINE-USER =+ML-XMPS-USERS =+r4l-ML-Admin =+block =+Bugzillas =+CD_Meldungen =+Dumps =+Gesendet =+Jokes =+Nethack =+Old =+Reminders =+spam =+VirtualMinds =+virus =+Wichtiges =+Wichtiges/FTP-Mailer =+Wichtiges/Passwoerter =+XXX_000 In my muttrc, I've got: set folder=~/Maildir Also with "set folder=/home/askwar/Maildir" and with "set folder=/home/askwar/Maildir/" I don't get mutt to announce new mails in the Maildirs. =+Daemon_Mails is correct "shorthand" for /home/askwar/Maildir/Daemon_Mails, if folder=~/Maildir, is it not? Reading Roland Rosenfelds muttrc at www.spinnaker.de/mutt/muttrc, I think it is.
