The distinction between the internal editor and the external one is not
the problem. The problem is the confusion between the internal editor
when being used for editing msg bodies (no trouble), and whatever
editor thing is active when editing one-line inputs, e.g. fcc/to/cc/bcc
in the composer window (no documentation about this, or else too well
hidden).
