I'm running into a hard time converting my head from traditional
Thunderbird hotkeys to Muttator hotkeys. Additionally, I think some
hotkeys are either broken or non-existant.
For example, in Thunderbird,
m: Mark message as read/unread (doesn't work; trumped by Mutt)
r: Mark thread as read (doesn't work; trumped by Mutt)
*: Expand all threads (works... but will in the future?)
\: Collapse all threads (works... but will in the future?)
Cntrl+Shift+C: Mark all read in the folder (works)
I don't use "m" much, but I use "r" all the time. It appears like the
only way I can get "r" functionality back is by mapping from :emenu, and
that's fine, but I have to imagine there are lots of people who use
thread view to view mailing lists (like this one).
It would be nice to have something like...
grm: Mark (toggle?) message read
grt: Mark (toggle?) thread read
and similar gum and gut. That is, "message" and "thread" could be like
movements. ( I suppose a less-Vimmy alternative would be "tr" for
"thread read". ) Also consider something like...
grat: Mark all messages read from this point forward in thread?
graT: Mark all messages read from this point backward in thread?
My main point is that I think threads should be handled better in future
versions of Muttator, and I think a good START to that would be to
thinking about "movements" in terms of "message" and "thread."
