Hello,

My name is Peter DeGregorio and I work for the company I founded 10 years
ago, PGM Systems, Inc., a small IT consultancy based in Northampton,
Massachusetts. I have two years of Java experience and have been working
with Struts on and off for about a year following our discovery of it and
soon thereafter abandonment of our own web framework. Prior to working with
Java our focus has been the "native" programming of the IBM iSeries (aka
AS/400) system. It has turned out to be a nice platform for server-side
Java.

My goal for the class is to round out my knowledge and abilities using
Struts and Tiles, which I'm sure to find is quite lacking in some areas. I
am especially interested in the general topic of programmer productivity as
it is helped by easy/easier-to-use and understand methodologies and feel
that Struts is a good building block for that purpose.

Sometime after the birth of my three children and starting of the company I
realized I have no outside interests or hobbies to speak of. I do have a
dual-purpose motorcycle which I use occasionally to roam the back roads of
Western Mass., however, and generally if it has an engine and it moves I
like it. Oh, and I like to ski, which I took up five or so years ago to
keep up with kids, as if that's even possible.

I am really looking forward to the class; thanks to Vic and others for
providing this opportunity.

Peter
