Position: Data Center Specialist Location: Abu Dhabi Duration 12 months extendable to 24 months for Abu Dhabi (Based location would be Noida) Description AD Police are implementing 2 new state of the art, “green” Data Centres that are to be validated to uptime institute tier III/IV standards. Need a client-side specialist working within the AD Police team for the construction and migration to the new data centers and be involved in setting up the Data Centre Management and control processes as follows: -Follow up AD Police management of this project, based on the plan set by the Consultant Company and Data Centre Integrator. -Assist in the evaluation and procurement of the Data Centre Integrator and Data Centre components -Provide technical assistance and review for all aspects of the project -Supervise the implementation of the Data Centre component -Modular room construction -Power supply -Precision air conditioning -Emergency power (UPS & Generator) -Data network -Cabling generally. -Fire detection and prevention systems. -Provision of rack space . -Security systems (CCTV, Access Control). -Building Management System (BMS) -Transfer of Operations to the new Data Centre -Migration of Services into the new Data Centre -Validation of the Data Centre to uptime institute tier III/IV. -Similar implementation in the Business Continuity Centre (Disaster Recovery Centre) -Help set up Data Centre management processes and procedures. -Assist with configuration management and change control of Data Centre assets. -Identify required skills levels within the IT Department and provide assistance with staff recruitment and training. -Present regular reports to senior IT Management, identifying progress, risks, issues etc. -Identify Performance Measures for the Data Centre itself and for the Data Centre management processes. Qualifications Essential Bachelors level degree in an engineering or computing discipline Preferable -ITIL Foundation Certificate or higher (1) - PRINCE2 or PMI Project Management Certification - ICOR Certified Data Centre Specialist or Similar - Arabic language ability Experience Essential -Extensive (5-8 years) experience of providing Consultancy for implementing “professional”, large scale Data Centers. -Demonstrate expertise in all components of the Data Centre implementation described above including the evaluation and selection of product sets and leading their subsequent implementation. -Expertise in Data Centre management and operation -Exposure to ITIL Best Practice Framework -Extensive Project Management experience Preferable -Experience in the implementation of certified Data Centre (Uptime Institute tier III/IV) -Experience of auditing Data Centre against a given standard Management/Leadership -Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with team members, management, and other areas, specifically in a public service context -Proven track record of successful leadership in service managements in a large -Good problem solving decision making skills. -Good written and oral communication skills. High-performance competencies -Understanding the business of data centre and ability to contextualize data centre expertise in a public service delivery context. -Customer focus and an ability to translate that into the management of staff and managers -Prioritizing and problem solving in a live, large IT management context.
