Hi Roland... Don't have H3 hardware so can not help you there.
If you are playing only audio, why not try letting Slimserver and MClient manage it? But you are running on something called an Asus WL-HDD? Are you running a wireless Network Access Storage device? I see 2 problems: 1) A lot of people on this list have talked about wireless networking and how they finally switched back to a wired network. Maybe someone who stuck with wireless can help out here. -and- 2) You would need so much support software to run MythTV I don't think it is possible on any off the shelf NAS that I have heard of. If you could port Perl to your NAS you could run Slimserver for audio files. We have people here on this list who have done that with the LinkSys NAS. The MVPMC program runs a lot of fork processes. I just checked one of my MVPMC boxes and counted 17 mvpmc processes. And the OS does have the "top" command in it. I am running all 100Mbyte switches. Once I had a 10MByte hub in the network and couldn't sustain video between a ReplayTV box and an instance of DVArchive. I also had problems with an AirLink 100MByte switch but other people did not. That hub and switch are in the back of the closet somewhere, but I would expect similar problems if I used them with the MVPMC box.
