I haven't attempted to get this to work myself, but supposedly with new
versions of MythTV you want to use the "New Live TV" option (latest
dongles have merged these two options), and you'll need to have the
database parameters configured, as documented here:

FWIW I have the same problem with Live TV.
As a workaround you can always set a program to record and then watch
it as it's recording. Almost live :-)
Even when it was working the channel change time was so slow it's not
terribly useful in any case. I don't think that's avoidable with all the
buffering
though the card->myth->network->mvp.
