I don't actually find the MVP unstable, but we tend to watch a 
fair amount of live TV and the backend will periodically lock 
tuners out, so needing a restart (although I dont think its an 
MVP issue that causes the lock). Sometimes, that will cause an 
MVP to need a reboot.  

The thing that triggered this whole chain is that I downloaded 
a recent daily build, installed it as the new dongle.bin and 
promptly broke all of my MVP's (see "H3 and latest daily 
build")- The wife and kids were not happy.  Of course, I put 
the old one back, but that makes it difficult to debug the 
problem with the new build. 

I will have a look at perlboot, although my perl is fairly 
rusty.
