I did think about it but instead I've taken your AC3 code and have modified the mpeg-ts code to play digital audio streamed directly in clear QAM on my HVR 1600 so for me it's not necessary. Combined with internet radio I've got more than enough choice. Note I'm doing this in Windows using a great utility called TSReader and I've even got channel changing from the mvpmc working with it.
