I just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10, and just finished installing the lastest snapshot of MVPMC. I then tried to play some XVID AVI's that I access over NFS. This is something that I did all of the time with an older version of VLC and MVPMC 0.3.4 running on Ubuntu 7.10.
Now when I do it, VLC segfaults. And I don't appear to be the only person having this problem: * https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/304887 My fear is that the Ubuntu team won't fix this issue until the next release in 4 months, if they even care to fix it. So, long story short, is anyone else using Ubuntu 8.10 to view videos that are streamed using VLC? If so, then how did you do it? Thanks in advance!
