Richard, what you describe is already present in MLO (professional
version in Full mode anyway).  There is a "Task Effort" slider, which
works just like the Importance and Urgency sliders, plus Min and Max
fields for entering "Time required for the task".

Perhaps these could be used instead of Lead Time while doing planning
only -- but if so, then any future "time view" feature would also have
to use these fields to display a time-line or Gantt chart; but then
how would Lead Time fit in?  Hmmmm.  I have rarely used these "Time
required for the task" fields, so I will have to review what they do
(in MLO) and consider how to best utilize them.
