At the moment, when I created lists in the To-Do, I use the Importance
and Urgency sliders to order tasks in a consistent way in various
views. eg Work Task List, Personal Task List, and some more complex
derivations of these.

However, when I create a closed lists of tasks - eg a list I intend to
do in a single day - I like to move around the order of the tasks
presented to me. In effect, the importance and urgency sliders help me
to decide what to put in my closed list for the day.

But in terms of fine tuning this order for a particular day, I don't
really want to move the importance or urgency task sliders as this has
a knock on effect for repeated tasks. I tend to use the 'Effort'
slider as a fine tuner (as I don't use this for anything else).. so I
put Effort in as one of the sorting criteria in my closed list and
this enables me to quickly move the order of tasks around for a
partiocular closed list without affecting their importance or urgency
scores which I use for the big picture.

So I'm wondering if anyone thinks it is a good idea to add a custom
slider for tasks which could be used for no other purpose than, in the
to-do list, it provides another sorting option and, if selected as a
sorting option, provides a way to quickly shift the order of presented
tasks.
