That would be fine too.  I would certainly value very highly anything
that keeps the current task 'in view' - to remind me what I am
supposed to be doing (rather than getting distracted - eg by posting
to the MLO forum!!)

What would be good (perhaps and I don't know whether it is possible)
would be to actually add the gadget into the Windows title bar itself
and to have it follow the window that has the focus.
