Richard,

I have good news! :)

Thanks to your data file I have just localized the problem and
reproduced it. Here is how you can reproduce this annoying issue:
1) Open your data file
2) Select To-Do
3) Setup columns for a view on To-Do
4) Select Outline
5) Save data file while you in Outline (!)
6) Close your file
7) Open your file again
8) DO NOT select To-Do and just save your data file again.

Result: when you switch to To-Do your columns will be reset to default
for the current view.

The reason was that To-Do view columns are not loaded to control until
you switch to To-Do. And if you save in this state the default columns
are saved to the view instead.

Working on the solution now...

Richard thank you very much for fighting against this annoying issue
for a long time! And thank you for your data file. I will destroy it
on my computer right now.

Andrey.

P.S. Richard you have great file with 4700+ tasks and custom
autoformat rules! You said you had slow machine. After analyzing the
speed of rendering for your datafile I have added some optimizations
to MLO and autoformat rules which will allow to speed up the painting
of the outline. I will post on this separately.
