Brilliant. Basically, if I have understood it, all you need do is save a file which has custom columns in the currently selected To Do but to save it from the Outline view. And then when you reopen it, it opens in the Outline view and then if you change the file in some way but don't switch to the ToDo view, this will cause MLO to save the file and doing this will cause the ToDo view revert to the default column settings.
That is a really interesting bug - one that is triggered by NOT doing something. I'm not sure that I have come across such an example before. I found it intriguing - because it wasn't possible reproduce the problem deliberately by closing and opening the file because the first thing you would do when trying to reproduce te problem is switch to the ToDo view to see whether the custom columns were still there. Which of course they were! An interesting lesson there (part of what I do is testing) It was ony during normal routine use of opening MLO and doing some stuff and not switching to the ToDo view before it did a save, did the problem occur. Which explains the seemingly random nature of the problem I like to think that I am quite good at working out how to reproduce problems but this one had me beat (I had a feeling that it was something to do with the opening of the file and the way in which the custom columns were loaded but I hadn't quite got there). Well done, Andrey for tracking it down. (And thank you for continuing to listen!) And thanks for the tweak to the rendering performance - one of the great things about MLO is its speed and I generally don't have a problem with it but there is sometimes a slight sub-second delay On Feb 22, 3:25 pm, "Andrey Tkachuk (MLO)" <[email protected]> wrote: > Richard, > > I have good news! :) > > Thanks to your data file I have just localized the problem and > reproduced it.
