OK, thanks for your detailed explanation of the issue. It was very helpful in allowing me to understand your issue.
I understand why you were expecting different results. The Start Date filter was introduced as a planning tool. With the Start Date filter blank, the To Do view functions as a task execution tool. The To Do view will show only tasks that are active (if Action Filter is set to Active), and will only show active tasks by Context during the open hours (as long as Include closed checkbox is not checked). I believe this is how most users normally use the Active Actions view, for execution of tasks by contexts that are currently open. But users were looking for an easy planning mechanism for looking at, let's say, tasks that are to be started within the next week. Andrey introduced the Start Date filter to handle these situations. If now I want to see Tasks that are to be started in the upcoming week, I just assign Today+1 in the Start Date From filter, and Today+7 in the Start Date To filter. Now when I am in a "planning" mode, I want to see all of my tasks starting in the next week, not just those tasks that happen to be in the open hours that I am currently in. When I am in "execution" mode (i.e. Start Date filters blank), I do care about open and closed hours and want only to see open hour contexts at that particular point in time. Technically speaking, I suppose Andrey could have designed it so anytime the Start Date was non-blank, the Include closed checkbox would default to checked. If Andrey hadn't designed the Start Filters the way that he did, then every time I used the Start Date filter, I would have had to go up and check the Include closed checkbox every time because when I use the Start Date filter, I want to see all tasks regardless if it is open or closed hours. I suppose if Andrey had decoupled the Start Date Filter from the open/ closed hours of Contexts, that would have allowed users like yourself to use the Start Date filters and only see tasks that are open during the current time. I am curious about your usage though. Why, for example, would you want to see tasks to be started next week, but only those tasks that have contexts that have open hours at your current time? That usage seems a little odd to me, but then again, that may just be me. Best regards, Ron On May 13, 8:38 pm, 范宜坚 <[email protected]> wrote: > First of all, thank you for your reply.
