How wrong can you be! I've never come across an app where so many GUI elements can be removed. It's as complicated as you want.
Regarding Addons/PlugIns - the whole point is that you only install those you need. I think there IS an issue with the transparency of functionality and that's why some of it doesn't get used. That doesn't mean it isn't required.
