There is a checkbox where you can choose whether to create completed copies of an event, and if you are looking to archive the past tasks, you can leave this checked, and then edit the completed task. So if you edit the active task, complete it to make a copy, then you can edit the active instance for the next time.
But you can't have notes for different future and current instances of the task if it is a recurring task. You can only edit the notes for the past (no longer connected to the recurrence) and the main task. MLO doesn't yet support exceptions to task recurrence. One thing you can do is keep a "template" task (just a regular task that you have decided to use as a template), which you copy/paste when you want a new instance, which you then edit. For example, I have a travel packing and tasks tree. For each trip I copy from my templates folder and paste it into another folder, then delete whatever I'm not going to need, mark the date for when I want to start packing, etc. For recurring tasks which I don't know when the next recurrence is going to be, I just save the task in a "Reuse" tree (and preface the caption with (), my personal sign for "this recurs or gets reused, don't delete") and edit it each time, replacing the note it used to have with the new copy and adjusting the dates. Hope that helps, Lisa On Thu, Aug 16, 2012 at 1:38 PM, Floyd McDonald <[email protected]> wrote: > I have just begun to evaluate MLO and would like to ask how does anyone > adds notes on recurring tasks? > > I set up an initial task and set it to recur every week on Sunday. > > When the first recurrence hits, I don't see where I would put > "notes/thoughts/concerns" to update that week's task? > > Suggestions? > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "MyLifeOrganized" group. > To view this discussion on the web visit > https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mylifeorganized/-/dPy80FQhqfYJ. > To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > [email protected]. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/mylifeorganized?hl=en. > -- Lisa ------------------------------ Lisa Stroyan, mailto: [email protected] <[email protected]> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MyLifeOrganized" group.
