I prefer it as it is also, but I wouldn't mind (or use) an extra settings option for it. Although many other tree programs add to the end from the parent node, it's not necessarily less efficient to do so from the last sibling. MLO seems to be designed with an optimal balance between customisability, remaining lightweight, and narrowness of purpose as a task manager. There are occasionally suggestions on this forum which may make sense, but unless it's unambiguously & significantly more efficient, I think it's a matter having the mental flexibility to see things differently and take advantage of MLO as it is. I therefore don't think it's necessary, and would rather see development resources spent on real improvements (small leaks sink big ships).
