Hi, Elizabeth. If I understand correctly, I think Daniel is telling us that the start and due dates in the phone and desktop versions of MLO match each other, but that they are incorrect in both places. I believe that he is indicating that the start and due dates were set correctly and that at some recent point, the start and due dates on both mobile and desktop platforms were pushed into the future (postponed) by a little under 28 months. Furthermore, Daniel appears to be suggesting that the dates were changed in May (based on the modified date) but that the reminder alarm went off as originally scheduled.
I am not a big user of reminders but I’m guessing that if the reminder throws an alert on mobile and desktop, and if the reminder gets a response on mobile but not desktiop, the task information might show a reminder still set on desktop but cleared on mobile. Would a sync reinstate the mobile reminder? I don’t know. So, let’s talk about ways that the task could be postponed 28 months. I can think of three things to check: First, it a repeating task or project gets completed and a new occurrence is generated, all subtasks of the recurring item get regenerated as well, and the adjustment to the recurring item’s dates are inherited by the subtasks. So Daniel should examine the parent of his task to see if it has a defined recurrence. And the grandparent. And so on until the root of the hierarchy is reached. Second, I would suggest setting a custom view to show all tasks that were modified the same dfay (or the same week, or month) as the task in question – any other task modified shortly before or shortly after has a chance of being involved. Third, I have had situations like this where the task in question actually appears in my hierarchy twice, one correct and one incorrect. I would suggest searching for the task name and seeing if there’s more than one match.
