It is interesting. I am on kitkat 4.4.2 I tried copy/paste on a different field. long press existing task >tapped 3 dots> copy text in Title field>pasted it in inbox as for a new task. It worked.
Now when I try to copy the caption of a task it works. It worked outside of inbox (in a different view) too replicating screenshot posted by Dwight A except for the copy handles.
