  This might not be the long term solution but it will save you the hassle
to tick and untick the high DPI setting:-

  When u need to read small text, on the keyboard press the "windows" key +
"=" this will enable the zoom in feature of windows. Of course, after zoom
in, the words will look pixelated but at least u can quickly glance at the
info. Then, press "windows" + "-" to zoom out.
