Hi Dwight, thanks for you help, however "not to self" doesn't work either. And the link how to change the default app was already posted above - unfortunately I get a different view of Google Assistant after calling it (presumably due to a different version), without any selection to change the app (I attach the screenshot below). I have the latest version of Google app in my Galaxy Note 8. Thanks!
