Hi Michael and everyone else who contributed, thanks for taking the time to look into it. *The solution was to save the view* (need to admit, I never did it before). Once a view is saved, it shows up on the dashboard as it is set up. Quite easy fix in the end and I'll continue to explore the possibilities of the dashboards.
