Hello everyone, I myself have been a long-term license holder of MLO and I must admit that I had lost sight of the product in recent years.
Now it has come back into my focus and I am glad that the development team - despite this unspeakable and evil war - is capable of continuing development. I have purchased the latest license (Desktop and App) and am actually quite happy with the program. Yes, there are always things that one would like to see implemented or that are a bit disturbing - but after all, what is perfect in this world.... One important feature, however, I do miss a lot: the current options for synchronization are unfortunately quite sparse. The WiFi-Sync feature with the limitation to one endpoint to be synchronized is not sufficient. Synchronization via a cloud is not an alternative for me due to data protection reasons alone. After all, I store quite personal and very confidential data in this program, which I will by no means entrust to a foreign cloud. The possibility of a file-based synchronization via a self-hosted, on-premise cloud system - e.g. NextCloud - would certainly be a good solution. For this, however, it would be necessary that the current apps can read and process these files as well. Such a solution would also satisfy those who are brave enough to synchronize their data via other public clouds, such as Dropbox etc. I understand well that the current cloud solution is a source of funding for the team in Ukraine. On the other hand - if key core functions for a product are not made available for a longer period of time - as a paying customer, one will jump onto the "next functional train" and leave the user family. Then, no money is made. This is also the case with me. For the moment, I can live with the current solution - but in the long run, there has to be a more extensive sync option for me. One way to finance such a feature fairly would be a kind of crowd-funding. The MLO team describes such a synchronization function and puts a price tag on it. Then all interested users have the opportunity to participate and pay a fair contribution to enable such a great feature. I personally would be very interested in something like this.
