I would like to get back to this, because for me this is an issue, too. My 
projects are usually over a longer time period, so it makes no sense that 
all the tasks should have the same due date as the project as a whole. That 
would be much too late and it causes problems if I forget to change the 
dates manually. 

So: Please make it possible to turn off "inherit parent date" as a default 
option!
