Alex, I don't really use the Review functions myself, but I can reproduce the problem you are seeing.
I see that if you click the "Mark Reviewed" button a second time, then it looks like the next review date is updated to reflect the changed schedule. A workaround might be to get yourself in the habit of always double-clicking on the "Mark Reviewed" button, to make sure any chenages take effect.
