Have you tried without bottles? I run it on openSuse Tumbleweed on my main PC. 
I just installed on my laptop that runs Fedora. Installed Wine, installed 
msxml6, installed MLO and was able to sync no problem. I am not familiar enough 
with bottles to know if there could be something in that environment that could 
affect it.
