I want to know if I can use "hibernate" under linux. I looked on the net and found swsup and softwaresuspend2. Has anyone used these? Are they reliable enough for everyday use?
I am using swsuspend2 fine with my IBM Thinkpad G40. How it works is spotty. I am able to suspend to ram just fine. Suspend to disk (i.e. swap) sometimes fails. This is probably only because I don't have enough swap space.
I'm considering subscribing to an Airtel broadband connection. They are providing a USB "modem". Does anyone know if I can use it under linux? They also offer a setup where the connection is through the ethernet card. I dont know which setup is easier to use under linux..
Airtel also provides a modem with Ethernet termination. Ask them for it. I am sure the USB modem will be a pain to set up.
