There are just so many things wrong with that set of statements there. It gives the feeling community == null. Having an active community in a FOSS loving environment makes a difference (if not a huge one)... speaking for myself, I always wished I could go to Manipal (which has an active LUG), I wished I could participate, contribute, organize in all the LUG meets of theirs, I wished I could get together with like minded people and listen to new interesting ideas. I wished I could all of this only because Mangalore has an inactive LUG full of people aged 25+, I wish I could be in a LUG that had youngsters too, if not for girls (FYI am a girl!) or any other gender!
That's why I am hoping for a FOSS scene at the Mysore University that will let me live these wishes that are so far unfilled, living in Mangalore. and re-reading this before posting, I sure sound like a girl! ha ha :P -Sindhu S sindhu-s.com +91-9449242622 On Mon, Apr 13, 2009 at 8:34 AM, Shakthi Kannan <[email protected]>wrote: > What you do with FOSS is based on your interests and capability alone, > and has nothing to do with the environment.
